Datsuku
Based in Kyoto and primarily a woodworking artist.
Since the 1990s, he has been captivated by Japanese music (“Wa-mono”) and has organized and participated in DJ events across Kansai.
Currently active in Kyoto, his focus is on Wa-mono, vintage music, and the 1960s scene.
His passion for monaural recordings from the 1950s has led him to appreciate their deeply resonant, natural sound, poetic lyrical expression, and the craftsmanship evident in their visuals, such as cut-and-paste fonts and two-tone printed sleeves, treating these 7-inch records as works of art.
In 2023, he released his first mix cassette, “SKIYAKI45,” through STUDIO MOJO.
Due to its popularity, the second installment, “SKIYAKI45 Vol.2,” followed in 2024, with Vol.3 currently in preparation.
