Estações do Sertão

Born and raised in São Paulo, Brazil, and a third-generation Japanese-Brazilian, Kenjinho delves into the rich culture and history of Brazilian music in this mix.

The title, “sertão estações,” refers to the drylands of Brazil’s Northeast (sertão) and the seasons (estações). This mix reflects the music and culture rooted in Brazil’s interior, shaped by the coexistence of abundant natural beauty and harsh environments, evolving and transforming across time and place.

From the distinct rhythms of the Northeast like Baião and Forró to nationally beloved genres such as Samba and MPB (Música Popular Brasileira), each track weaves a narrative of Brazil’s timeless popular music traditions.

Through this mix, immerse yourself in the landscapes, people, and stories of the cultural heritage that has been passed down across generations in Brazil.
