Macunaíma

Born and raised in São Paulo, Brazil, Kenjinho, a third-generation Japanese-Brazilian, presents a story-inspired mix based on the classic Brazilian novel “Macunaíma.“

Set in the racially diverse landscape of Brazil, the story follows the journey of its protagonist, Macunaíma, who embodies a mix of Indigenous, African, and Portuguese heritage.

Through his quest for self-discovery, Macunaíma grows and learns valuable lessons, offering a lens into Brazil’s complex history, culture, and the interplay of its diverse racial identities.

This mix takes listeners on a journey through different eras and regions of Brazil, weaving together the richness of its music and storytelling.
