The steppe of Eurasia
AOI, known for her deep exploration of Central Asian and Siberian cultures, presents another captivating hour-long mix themed around the natural landscapes of Eastern Eurasia, following the success of her previous work “Vast East Eurasia.“
Now I’m looking at the steppe regions of Eurasia—endless plains to the mountains, the wind and the nomad’s trail. My last mix was about Slavic countries, this one is about Turkic cultures.
Folk melodies warm up, electronica mystifies and the rhythms blend together to be calming and energizing. Throat singing (khöömei) is deep and resonant and grounds me in the heartbeat of life.
Use on your next walk, morning or evening, or whenever you need to get in touch with the world.
